Where do you stand?

All four Federal Political party logos

It is a fair question, to ask of any Politician, don’t you think?

Problem is, when you ask any Politician for a straight forward answer, you always get the “spin” thrown in, instead of a simple “yes” or “no” response.  Now I know, not all questions are really simple but then I also believe that we tend to over complicate answers, when something simple will do.

Simple questions, should elicit simple answers, and even the more complex one’s, should be able to be summed up in a short, yes or no response.

You can add the reason behind the answer, afterwards, or after the public relations buffoons come up with an answer.

Plus, just because a Leader has a personal view, does it mean that automatically he/she is going to implement that view, on all of us, if we elect them as the government?  Seriously, if that were true, well I wouldn’t be legally married today, to David.  Neither Jean Chretien or Paul Martin liked the notion of two guys being married, given their religious beliefs, but it didn’t prevent them from granting me the right to marry a guy.

Yes the Courts made the ruling, that spurred the law, but you didn’t hear Jean Chretien talking about the ‘not withstanding’ clause like you did Stephen Harper and his party.

Anyhow, I thought I’d like to try something, to see if for some questions, a guy can get a simple straight forward answer from our four Political Leaders.  And what better way than to use Social Media to ask them the question, and then discuss it in detail on the blog?

Yeah okay, so I am dreaming again, but hell, why not?  Be fun to see what Stephen or Tom have to say or even if they can keep it to a simple one word response. Now if only I can figure out how to ask a question, to each of them, without going over 140 characters  [icons icon=”icon-pencil” color=”#8224e3″ size=”40″]
