Calling the kettle black

You have to love Donald Trump.

He is one of the few men who can spout falsehoods every time he opens mouth, yet it is the mainstream media (like CNN, BBC, and the New York Times) that is fake news.

I guess Goebbels was right, tell a lie long enough, loud enough, and people will believe it.

The Distractions vs The Policies

meet the press Trump style

Journalism, to me, is about news, not gossip or foibles. It is about detailing issues that matter in one’s life, not about what makes one shake their head or giggle. While President Trump enjoys stirring the pot in 140 characters or less, isn’t it time for the media to get on with its real job, which is to inform the public about policies and things that impact one’s life?

Keep America Safe

Posted by Moaning Mary on February 22, 2017 in Politics, World Affairs |

It is a good mantra that plays to the fear many USA citizens have, not to mention that it helps deflect from the real problems facing the United States, including the rise of bigotry and racism.

Running for election

Oh how the world has changed, and yet not. Today in America it is still about telling people who to be afraid of, and who will lead them to be the Greatest Demoracy Ever, just like in so many political novels. Only thing changed is how vile the rhetoric has become, how much hateful it is, and worse, how people are lapping it up

Electoral Reform or Regression?

Either you win or you lose, but with the proposed changes to Canada’s election process, it seems everyone wins, no matter what the majority chooses. I am sorry, but first past the post works, it just needs some tuning, so that everyone actually does vote.

putting politics aside

Supposedly the Liberal Government has already sent, or is in the process of sending financial aid to the NDP government of former Tory Blue Alberta, to help them transition from their sole dependacy on Oil. Makes you wonder how quickly would a Harper Government help a province who went from Tory to NDP.

Spend or Save | What really counts

Federal budget coming

It sounds scary, to have to borrow over Eighteen Billion dollars, but then, keeping things in perspective, having higher unemployment, back logged health care, lack of checks and balances on Police, on Industry is a bit more scarier. We need to have our services restored, before we can start to save again.

food costs a lot more today

With an election coming up, maybe we should look back to before we made the worse mistake of our lives, and elected Stephen Harper and his gang of thieves. Are we better off today, than we were prior to the Harper gang?
